Essential STAMP/STPA, GSN/D-Case with Astah System Safety

Designed for:

  • Safety Engineer
  • Systems Engineer

Ensure exceptional system safety analysis by learning STAMP/STPA (System-Theoretic Accident Model & Processes) and GSN/D-Case (Goal Structuring Notation/Dependability Case) methodologies in this comprehensive course. This program equips you with the essential tools and techniques for rigorous system safety analysis. We begin by establishing a solid foundation in core principles, including hazards, accidents, risk, and effective risk management strategies. You’ll gain a holistic understanding of systems, fostering a comprehensive consideration of their interactions with the environment and stakeholders. We delve into STAMP/STPA. Through interactive exercises and real-world case studies, you’ll master the application of STPA (Systematic Theoretic Process Analysis) to identify safety hazards arising from control failures. Gain a clear understanding of STAMP’s core principles, such as safety constraints and causal factors. Following this, we explore GSN/D-Case. This module introduces the concept of goal-based safety and the power of GSN for defining safety goals and subgoals. D-Case (Dependability Case) complements GSN by demonstrating how the system design addresses established safety goals. The course explores relevant software tools like Astah System Safety to streamline your analysis process.

Essential UAF with Astah UAF plugin

Designed for:

  • Program/Capability/Portfolio Manager
  • Systems Engineer
  • Solution Provider
  • Risk Analyst

Explain the key concerns of each role, specifically targeting learners, by discussing the content, the need for these roles, their areas of concern, and the benefits of focusing on each UAF view specifications. Additionally, address the scope of tools that facilitate customers in developing and maintaining the knowledge required to build their own architecture. As part of the course, learners will engage in a mini-project where they will practice creating UAF-based architecture using Astah System Safety with the UAF plugin. This course aims to raise learners’ awareness of program, capability, and portfolio management in conjunction with the systems lifecycle process ISO/IEC 15288. This course does not require a solid background in SysML. Activities during the course will use a few concepts of SysML blocks, values, and basic relationships.
